He's never been so relieved to be proven wrong.  In retrospect, he can identify the simple leaps and assumptions that led him to the incorrect conclusion.  A hefty dose of fear ignited the fire and from there, he drew connections where there were none.  Alfred reassures him in no uncertain terms that he's well and even goes so far as to explain away some of what Bruce has witnessed.  

Hours later after he's had time to digest, he realizes the thought of outliving Alfred terrifies him in ways nothing else can.
